Totally suuuper week!

mamzi,
oh no!!!!! beckham!!! this is the saddest story of all my days, my legs hurt now like none other, i´m never going in the dark again. i´m glad it all worked out for her though, wish her health for me if you would. i´m a billion jealous about camp mary though, that place totally rules and it sounded like a perfect family vacation up until mr. barbed wire fence came along.
for your questions (which are super easy to answer) yes, i did get a blessing from my companion when i fell sick and yes. that is fun that you are friends tehe.
my week was totally suuuper great though, i figured out an awesome secret to learning spanish when i never even thought there was one! i went on splits with my district leader who is a native and he taught me tons of great stuff and today i´m going to go on splits with my zone leader who is also a native and super hilarious.
remember that sister named paniagua i was telling you about? well we ate at her house a few days ago and she made my favorite dish in argentina of all time and possible of all the time that i am in this earth! i was just a huge pie made of meat and eggs.
the craziest thing happened to the missionaries that live with us! one of their investigators tried to kill his family!!! and like they talked to him after and like it was just regular ahhhh sooo weird! but no worries cuz everything here is all good, just argentine ha.
my week was totally way great though and i´m finally understanding what the heck people are saying to me :D haha but g2g, i´ll chats it up with you next time. thanks for coming to my special.

What is "Gripe"?

mamzi,
my week was strange. i´ve never been quite sure what a person would do on their mission if they got sick, but i got to figure out! :D i´m not sure how i got sick, but i think it was just like what they call gripe and a sore throat, definately stuff i´ve never really had before. don´t worry though, cuz i´m doing soooo totally fine now! :) the weird part is that i just had to sleep. all day. and then i´d wake up and look at all our great argentine food then go back to sleep. i was able to make it to church to take the sacrament and that was a huge blessing and way awesome.
it´s baylie´s birthday??! and kjirsten?!!! oh boy, i´m so bad with all the dates, i´m going to go ahead and ask you for a calender with all the birthdays because i hardly know my own! but no rush as long as i´m not offending anyone by not remembering anything. but to bays and kjirst, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
i feel way bad for getting sick because my ward organized this ´capilla abierta´ (open house for the church) this week and because i was sick we weren´t able to invite anybody so absolutely no investigators or non-members showed up and they had planned for and were expecting like at least 50 from our efforts :/ how sad, no? everyone was super nice about it though, it´s just that satan had some real good tactics on us this week because that was our best chance to get companionship from the ward for our investigators...
other than that i´m doing great! because it was transfers we got a new elder in our apartment named elder egbert and he´s brand new! and soooo adorable haha. he´s from utah, he can read my mind, and he plays and owns an ocarina (the flute from zelda). but guess what, i´m not the new guy anymore!!!! which is great cuz i´ve been here on a mission for 6 months already! as of yesterday i´m already 1/4 the way finished with my whole mission, no fair!
these have been my thoughts. i thoroughly hope you have enjoyed them :) i´ll see you tomorrow at 2:30. until then have a great summer with the family and a rockin time at camp mary ( of which i´m super jealous). tell the scoots he has to catch a water snake for me!                                                                           -elder emetts. kidding. just 1

Not the new guy anymore

ohhhhh noooo!! my brother fuller!!! thank you dad and mathew for exercising that priesthood :D that´s totally something fuller would do, go on superman adventures while everyone is asleep, good thing he heals like superman also!
ok, about all the money stuff i´m super sorry!!! i had no idea that it costed money to check it so i´ll just leave it alone from now on. i haven´t been able to take money out yet because there really hasn´t been enough to take out cuz it costs 18 pesos to take out any money at all so i´ll just leave it alone from now on:) thanks for telling me! buuuuut as for the package that dad wants to send- listerine breath strips, like you know the little peices of paper? yeah, as many of those as possible. there is a hermana in our ward who feeds us at least once every day and always helps us with proselyting and everything and she loves those breath strips like none other but they don´t have them in argentina!!! so that would be super awesome.  i remember you talking about a package like a month and a half ago that you sent, but i haven´t gotten it yet, so i´m not sure how long it´s going to take those to get here, maybe 6 years.
and way to go chelsea!!! that´s super awesome that she wants to serve a mission. as for argentina everything is going just very good. this week is transfers so that´s why i texted you a day late. one of the missionaries in my apartment is leaving tomorrow then his companion is going to stay here and train so i´m not a new guy anymore!!! how cool is that?! i just started like 3 days ago! but we´re going to build him a cake for a nice warm welcome. i´m so excited!!!! as for the work, we were out proselyting with hermana paniagua (kolby, don´t laugh at her name if you read this) who is the woman who loves those breathe strips and there was a woman sitting outside as we walked past. us missionaries were just walking fast and thinking about our next visit that we had set up, but the hermana said we should go talk to her so we did. the woman was sitting outside crying because her mom had just passed away and she had lost all hope so she was just doing nothing and crying. the hermana gave her a big hug and told her everything was alright because god had sent her these missionaries. we taught her the plan of salvation and that her mom was at peace right now and you could just see a huge change in her whole person. she stopped crying and told us she didn´t know any of that. her husband came in and he was a member!!! how crazy is that! but he was super inactive. we haven´t talked to them since then, but it´s truly amazing to see the sudden change and hope that the gospel can give to people like that who have lost all hope and forget that they have a father in heaven who loves them.
ooooh, that´s a lot of time! sorry, i´m off to a birthday party now, i´ll see you later the mams:) luvs

Oodles of Noodles!

dear the tammy,
sorry that the time i send the email is kind of random, cuz it sure is! it´s just whenever we want to before 6. but yes, i´m still doing great and eating plenty. what do we eat? super easy question to answer because there are two options: noodles with marinara-type sauce and bread or meat with mayonnaise noodles with marinara-type sauce and bread. so pretty much just a whole ton of noodles! which is great cuz i love noodles! and there are oodles of them!
we found a family of like15 people the other day and it just reminded me of home! we were teaching the mom and a few daughters who wanted to listen while small children and random people came in and out and were yelling and doing all the stuff the emetts might do. one of the little girls was so amazing!! she is only like 10, but she was paying super close attention the whole time and had deep questions and new every answer to all our questions then when we went back she was the only one in the family who had read in the book of mormon we left with them. to me it was so strange of a 10 year old to be concerned about those types of things, she reminds me a little of joseph smith.
one of our super stellar investigators was having a hard time with church attendance. she is 32 years old and like 4 months away from having a baby plus she has 2 kids at home who are 11 and 13. her husband works way late on saturdays so is always asleep for most of sunday. we heard of this great plan someone else in our zone has done which is to make them an american breakfast!! so we did! we made pancakes with hashbrowns and chocolate milk for them at like 8 in the morning on sunday and it all still tasted super argentine, but just appeared a little american. but it worked! ..halfway, only the mom came cuz the dad just slept right through everything, but she loves church and now that she has come twice she feels like she´s pretty much ready to get baptized once her husbands gets on board haha so we´re working with him, but he´s really awesome too, just sleepy.
there are all my happenings. could you convince my brother kolby to come visit me in argentina before he heads all the way home and turns into not a missionary, i wanna go proselyting with that kid or something. ooh, and elder gibbs´ mom actually lives in texas or some country in the middle east called kuwait, but elder gibbs says go for it! the mom´s name is elizabeth 435-862-6472 and elder gibbs just happened to remember her cell phone number!!! XD but hey, i´m doing great! thanks for the love from my awesome eternal family :) nighty night.                                -elder emett at way far away

I am getting well fed!!!!

mams,
haha that was the greatest letter, i love how addie calls josh josh haha how disrespectful. we actually weren´t able to have the baptism though because she had to dash to rosario for some family problems, but i have no doubts that it will happen because she is totally way awesome. some people are nice, some are mean, it´s pretty much just like texas and probably just like some parts of utah. we went into a store to ask directions the other day and there was this old woman who was super nice and evangelist. she talked to us for like 20 minutes about her daughter who is doing something like a mission, but just selling books in another country. we gave her a pamphlet and as we went to leave my companion asked if she had pure honey in her store so she immediately rushed over and grabbed it off the shelf and gave it to us hoping that her daughter will be blessed in a similar way so it´s awesome to hear that you fed some missionaries in mcdonald´s. ahhhh i totes love how you´re still good friends with laura and how awesome she is for visiting you guys cuz she´s a super busy girl. i´m a little confused though, she feels like she has to sacrifice her social life until she gets back?! i sure hope that´s not for me, but no worries.
who in the world compared me to thor beacause i have some news.... that´s sooo untrue! as my mother you know how good i am at getting full and the people here offer us soooo much food so i just eat it! and they have a ton of great candy so i eat that too. now this might be a little off, but if i was going to guess how much weight i´ve gained i would say in the high 56,000s. so i´m getting fed well, possibly too well tehe.
oh, remember how i said i switched penches?! the new one doesn´t have a bedae!!!! worst news ever, huh?! but i can get along just fine, my bottom just hurts all the time though. this week as a zone we all got letters from warren jeffs compelling us to buy some books about the end of the world and all this really perfectly doctrinally correct stuff. tehe joke. but i just wonder if you get the same things up there in the u.s.
this week has been a good one, but a little hard because we´ve lacked on lessons and that´s when i have the best time is when we´re actually teaching people. the work is rolling here and i´m doing just fine :) don´t worry about ben, but thank you for your support! i love you all! everyone who reads this letter. i don´t even care if i don´t know you haha kidding. see you in the morning.                                 -elder emett de argentina
