I love you all a crazy ton family!!

mamzies¡¡
As you can probably tell it´s wednesday and not monday. good job¡ ha, kidding. no, it´s because monday was some kind of holiday because the argentines like to have holidays every other week for 2 weeks at a time so this is my first day of not holiday and i´m finally writing. it´s during our working time so this won´t be incredibly long, although longer than kolby´s cuz he´s super trunky probably. i know i would be. but i´m also writing on a weird computer that doesn´t have all the keys exactly so just go along with it please, i know i´m going to seem way boring cuz this is my only exclamatin mark ¡ but anywho my week was awesome. i had a super crazy experience.
One of our investigators had the dream of lehi¡¡¡¡¡ it was so nuts. as she told us i was just like, "is this real life?" her name is vicki and she is like 50 years old and suuuper catholic, but she took our challenge to read the book of mormon with an open mind and really meditate on how it could bless her life and when we returned she told us that she had a really profound dream and it was exactly the dream of lehi just in argentina and in our day. if we get done emailing in time we´re actually going to visit her tonight. holy cow the church is so true.
There is the hugest festival of catholic people in the city right now. supposedly there was a woman who received revelations from mary in a spacious and abominable catholic church around here and the 25 of september is when ALL the people gather to be happy about it. people came from all over the place for this thing¡¡ one person told us that there were millions of people here and i totally believe it, there are tour buses lining every single street within miles of the church and everyone wants to sell you something right now. luckily everything went good and we didn´t get in any kinds of fights for knowing the truth, eventhough that has happened to other missionaries before us. if you want to search it, you can. i believe they call her the virgin of san nicolás.
I love you all a crazy ton family¡ i´m glad that our parents rule and already we have an eternal family. i´ll see you all when i come home in three weeks.
love, Elder Cobe.   ahhhhh come on, sorry everyone. i´m ben¡ goodbye.

Lasagna is the biggest night mare he can imagine!

heyyy mami!
you asked me a bazillion of questions so i´ll try my best to answer the majority of them! my mission is just like all of my brothers. there is a big city in the middle (Rosario) where the mission home is and other cities and also little places in the country where we can go. i´ve been in a big city called san nicolás all of my mission, but there are plenty of missionaries who go to teeny places called pueblitos where everyone knows eachother and the don´t have grocery stores. transfers are the tenth of october, so pretty much until kolby gets home, but there is a great chance that i will stay here in san nicolás and my companion will leave because he has been here for like 6 months. we still eat a bujillion noodles and for breakfast i eat cereal or pancakes. i buy 2 bags of cereal once a week usually and when i run out of that i make pancakes that are super argentine and kind of just something to eat haha. yes, it´s a ton of walking.  we live like 6 or 3 miles away from our area so sometimes we take a bus to get there, but then we walk all day and somtimes we return on a bus, depending on how much time we have. yes, we can drink water from the tap... but it´s supposed to make you super sick when you do. luckily, i haven´t been sick yet! no haha, we definately don´t have a washing machine, we usually take it to a laundry mat, but now that it´s summer and dries faster we´re going to start doing it by hand. fwoo, how´d i do? did i get a 10? here in argentina they don´t have letters for grades, they only have numbers 1-10.
this week was amazing! to start off the week i got a package from laura!!!! it was so awesome, she sent me all kinds of great stuff including a pillowcase that says ,"6 months" and has tons of inspirational quotes and drawings. also it had a letter from josh harris which was just about the greatest thing because i haven´t talked to him since i left. but that was a perfect way to start the week, and beside that, it´s starting to be a ton hotter here so i´m always sweating and sticky, but it´s all good. my shoes are all broken into pieces so i´m about to start using my new pair. beside that we found a lady who is super old and lives alone in her house. she is a member and she expressed to us that she really wants to return to the church before she dies so she can be clean when she stands in front of god, but her legs and the rest of her body have health problems so we gave her a blessing before we taught her and when we stood up to leave she just stood right up with the biggest smile and told us that she felt great! that was an awesome experience.
but everything here is totally going good, send my loves to that huge family we have at home and please, oh please, oh please don´t cook lasagna for kolby when he gets back. that´s the biggest nightmare i can imagine.     -elder emett

The temple rededication was soooo amazing!!!

dear the fams and the mams,
the temple rededication was soooo amazing!! there was the
dance thing on saturday night where the kids from our ward went to
dance in front of the apostles and yesterday was the actual
rededication which was broadcasted to all the stake centers here and
it was really one of the most spiritual experiences of my entire life!
elder eyring, christofferson, and ballard all were there and in my
session elder christofferson  and eyring spoke. i didn´t know that
christofferson speaks fluent spanish!! it´s so amazing, he sounds just
like a native and he said that he served in northern argentina for his
mission which would equate partly to my mission right now! but the
reason that it was so great is that we were able to bring our recent
converts and they loved it!! we were supposed to be seated by 2:30 and
we told them to be there early, but when we got there they weren´t
there so we waited and waited... and they had to close the doors at 3
so we were waiting right by the doors with the guys who were going to
close and lock the doors. one of the guys turns to me and says, "
elder, don´t worry, miracles happen." and right after that our
converts showed up! like a minute and a half before they were going to
close the doors for good!
we have a new sister missionary in our district and guess where
she´s from? peru!!! and before she came here she had to wait in peru
and serve as a missionary there for a little while waiting for her
visa and guess which zone she was in- kolby´s zone!!! her name is
hermana garcia and she had a little note that kolby wrote to me that
says "press forward little brother, love you" but in spanish. what are
the chances of that??!! she went right from there to my district! she
also gave me all kinds of stickers and little cards from kolby´s
mission and she says he´s a great missionary and his spanish is crazy
good for a white guy.
the work here is going totally great, we have 2 investigators
with dates to be baptized right now and their both stoked, but we´ve
also been focusing a lot in finding new people to teach and helping to
reactivate families. sorry, i´m totes out of time, but i´ll writecha
in a week, ok? great, love you!                    Elder Emett

Super Dandy!

Dear the Thamson,
Thanks for your emails! i love how i always have emails from you that give me great updates on the family. that would take more work than i´m willing to do to email 2 boys on missions seperately. i would just copy and paste, but most of the emails i get have my name in them!!! such a great mom :) KJIRSTEN AND FULLER!!! i´m so excited for them!! i hope it´s a little boy so briggs can have someone to wrestle with, eventhough shaersti (i sure hope i didn´t shank that) could do more damage than any boy could. that´s super sad about aunt florence :/ but she did great, 97 is a whole ton of years. i´m glad to hear that linda is taking it well, i will keep her in my prayers. also, wish grandpa bert a happy birthday for me while you´re throwing his party please? thanks :)
things here in argentina are just super dandy, it almost started to be summer, but today is super cold and rainy. the big news here is the rededication of the temple this week! like all of the members are going to go and watch. all the kids throughout argentina prepared a special dance for the apostles and they practice like 7 hours a week. some people who were in charge of the whole dance came and watched the kids in our stake to make sure they were doing it right and our stake did so great that they are going to be right in front of the apostles!!! it´s such an exciting time! unfortunately we don´t get to go, but we get to stay where we are and work i guess. i´m way excited for all of them and yesterday one of the kids taught me the dance they are going to do and it´s so argentine! i love it. but we won´t have the normal church meetings this week, they are just going to show the rededication in all the stake buildings and we get to go to that at least! i heard that uchtdorf, eyring, and christofferson are all coming, but i´m not totally sure.
the other day we were sitting there talking with the guy we just baptized and he took his coat off and he was wearing an arsenal (an english soccer team) jersey. i said,´´oh, i love your jersey!´´ and he said, ´´you want it?´´ and i didn´t want to say no to offend him, but i didn´t want to take it because it´s a super expensive jersey and nobody here really has a ton of money, but befor i even answered, just like it was custom, he just took it right off his body and handed it to me and said, ´´it´s a gift, my friend´´ and after that i didn´t want to try to give it back and offend him... plus it´s a super awesome jersey haha. but there are people here (like him) who are just soooo awesome and have the greatest hearts.
oh, and about the package, it was the one with like grapevines, m&ms, starburst and cowtails. i´m pretty sure it was the first one that you sent since i´ve been here in argentina so it didn´t have the breath strips. thanks for your emails and the news and your love and your jokes! send my love to the family please mommy!     elder emett
