Elder Nelson spoke in Spanish!

Mamzi.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are still teaching Ever and he´s such a boss!! We had stake conference this past week and we all went together. Elder Nelson spoke to us and did it all completely in spanish! Without a translator. You can tell he doesn´t speak spanish at all, but most of it was understandable. Somebody must have just taught him how to read it or something. Ever is going to be baptized on the thirteenth of next month cuz we want to make sure he actually understands everything and doesn´t fall away so going to church and reading and all that won´t be something weird anymore, but habitual.
Happy birthday mom!!!!! sorry i cannot be there so i can´t get you a nice pair of socks or something, but i love you! i hope it´s super happy :) Here´s happy birthday in spanish for you- Que lo cumpla feliz, que lo cumpla feliz, que lo cumpla Mamzamziiiiiiii, que lo cumpla feliz. probably Kolby already sang you that same song, huh? I´ts alright, i just hope you liked mine too.
Oh yeah, about the pope. Shoot. the devil was just like, ´´dude, let´s make things a little more difficult in argentina.´´ The thing that´s difficult is that the pope is an awesome person so a lot of catholics are reactivating and paying attention a little more. We just hope that some of those people start paying attention and then go, ´´wait, where are the prophets and all the right ordinances? And why does everyone here believe something different about the same God? And why do all the leaders just say that´s ok to believe what we want as long as we pay them?´´  Then hopefully they´ll find us :) There´s my dream, but it hasn´t passed yet.
What´s up with Zac? Is he like going to marry Brooke or what? Are they still dating? Are they still working on matrimony in the temple?
Hey, i´ll see you soon!        MisterElderBenEmett

Aloha mams

ALOHA mams,
What?! When was St. Patrick´s Day?! no, there is none of that here haha. It´s all good though, I did eat beef and cabbage!! just not with that great mustard. Yeah i´m still in that same place i sent you pictures of.. at the beach.. with the rich people.. It´s pretty much the best spot in my whole mission so God wanted to give me a ton of responsibility and keep me here a long time. I will have been here at very least 4 transfers by the time i leave and we had some weird transfers so it will turn out to be like 6 1/2 months. It´s pretty much my home!
Yeah, we are still teaching the guy named Ever and this sunday he brought a couple family members with him to church who aren´t members! He´s super golden. He hasn´t yet committed to a baptismal date, but he´s reading the book of mormon like every single day and just being a boss all around. Ever has a nephew who is 3 years old and, because my companion´s name (monckeberg) is hard to pronounce, the little kid calls him ´´mmmmkevin´´ funniest thing ever. Their mom is so greatful that we are helping out the family. The mom is a member and last night she told us to pass by her house and pick up dinner. When we went by she gave a ton of food! and she told us to sit down for a second and just told us how we are special and how much we mean to her and how greatful she is. She always makes us feel way good about what we do, ahhh i love the members here!
You are absolutely right mom, i really don´t talk about baptisms a whole lot. I won´t try to blame it on anything, i know that it all depends on how much i try to be a tool in God´s hands and do all i can, but to be honest it´s super difficult with baptisms. A while ago this mission baptized like thousands of people and the leadership in the church here just straight up wasn´t ready for it so now all of those people are inactives. A lot of the work we do is with those people because the leadership in the church still isn´t ready for a ton more baptisms. of cours that´s what we´re called here to do, but last month as a mission we had 14 baptisms... 200 missionaries working all day every day. For a month.  it´s a little difficult. But right now i´m really seeing a ton of blessings in my area and a ton of help from the lord. Me and my comp found better ways to do things and better ways to find people that are interested and we didn´t find anyone using that new form of searching, but 2 people showed up to church with one of the less actives we are teaching and both of those people are super interested and aldready told us they want to get baptized. The success comes, but not always in the form of baptisms. something i´ve loved seeing in myself are the changes from going out all day and working in the hot sun, trying to think like Jesus Christ and help people as a representative of Him.
Yes, they difinately celebrate Easter here in Argentina, but i´m pretty sure it´s just for the catholics to get together. I don´t know if they share our unexplained bunny who gives out eggs, but there has to be some kind of bunny involved. It´s easter. Mostly i´m just way way excited about General Conference!!!! i don´t think i´ve ever been this excited for it in my whole life!! i´ll let you know how it goes :)  But i´ll probably see ya´ll before that. ¡besos a todos!

The brownies were great!!

Well hey!
Not a whole ton of crazy stuff going on here with my child on the beach. But yes, almost all of the houses here have ovens. People thought it was weird when we didn´t have an oven for a time. I´m still in a third world country, but where i´m at is super duper rich! Yes, she is a member who´s just getting ready to serve her mission. It´s the coolest family ever! They are way strong memebers: The parents were both missionaries and all the kids that had the chance to go on missions went and were way successful. One of their kids had a heart problem so he couldn´t serve a mission eventhough he wanted to way bad. He finally got it fixed like two weeks ago and they all say that he got it fixed just so he could go on a mission so he has to wait a few months to see if it´s really all good, but after that he´s stoked to serve a mission. They have 6 kids and they always help us with the work and it´s pretty much just like my argentine family. Yes, the brownies were great! Definately not from the United States, but they tasted great. No worries, i´ll tell her thanks :)
Yes, my comp and i are doing great together! He´s already a way better missionary than me. We normally teach like 15 lessons a week, but we use the majority of our time finding people because there are a lot of prepared people out there, but for right now we haven´t found a ton of them. It´s not that it´s hard to find people to teach. If i wanted to teach a ton of lessons every day to nice old ladies who like to listen and are suuuuuuper catholic i totally could and this whole mission thing would be a lot easier, but right now we are really just searching for a family or someone who could be a worthy priesthood holder. What is most interesting to them? haha honestly? na.
Wow, there is so much going on back at home!!!! With people going to Disneyland and the beach and camping and taxes and having boys and swim races and birthdays and exams and glasses!!! Thank you so much for all the info you give me, i feel like i´m pretty much there. Tell Josh great work on all his grown up boy tests and on his boy child haha. And tell Becca good job with swimming!!! that´s amazing that she´s a superstar already!! And please tell Matt and kolby i´m a little too jealous about what they will be doing this spring break... and that they have a spring break! tehe.
So we found this super awesome guy to teach who got dumped by his girlfriend and got kicked out of his house so he went to live with his mother who is the nicest lady ever. ooh, how ironic, That´s his name! Ever. So weird. But he is a really strong catholic and looking for God a lot in his life right now so we´re teaching him a lot about the restoration and helping him accept the book of mormon. My companion and i told him that we both play the guitar and he said he wants us to teach him so last week he went out and bought a new guitar so that we could teach him! What a jewel, eh?
One of the members this week had a notebook in church with winnie the Pooh on the front cover. It wasn´t funny that a 20 year old was carrying around a notebook with Winnie the Pooh, but after i read it i laughed my head off. It says on the front, ´´Care to play Pooh sticks?´´ Ha i got such a kick out of that because the argentines are so cute when they translate things. Hey, see you tomorrow Ma. besos. -Elder Emett

Gramma is happy with what I am doing right now!

Mams,
I´m way glad the whole funeral went over well and the family was able unite and be so happy together!! I´m just sad I missed it, but I know grandma´s happy with what i´m doing doing right now. I´m very very very confused with what you wrote me. You wrote me that Sarah McComb is getting married, That´s so great!!! I´m way excited for her!! but i don´t get the part after at all haha. I actually kind of laughed out loud because i think you meant to say something different... i sure hope you meant to say something different. haha then in the sentence afterward you said that you´re exhausted and going to bed. Please let me know what you were trying to say. I really can´t see Jan Lindell and Tom Lotz getting engaged anytime soon haha.
I got a child in the mission!! (as in i´m training) He´s super cool and confusing. His name is Elder Monckeberg, no lie. He´s from Chili and just a nice little guy. He speaks way fast and uses a lot of words i have never even heard because we don´t use them here in argentina so i have to teach him how to speak like an argentine, what fun!!! We have this book of all the stuff we should do as a trainer and when i got trained, my trainer didn´t do any of it so i´m  making sure that we do all of it exactly like it says haha. mainly i just have to be super obedient to the rules right now because i have to show him how to be a missionary. He was in the MTC for 13 days!!! That´s all! like he doesn´t have any mission training at all. They have this new program where the missionaries are hardly in the mtc for any time, but they recieve extra training in the mission field from their trainers. I´m way excited about it though, he´s already a boss, he just doesn´t understand ever single thing we do, but it´s easy to learn and get the hang of. He just knows why he´s here and he has a testimony, that´s the important part.
I sure do miss my little Peruvian companion and i don´t know why we were only together like 2 months, so fast!! but God knows what i need. Thanks for all the support and love!! i´ll see you soon!
